Another Gallery

An experiment with etching painted glass.
On the left the back was painted then deep etched to give a 3d effect to the lettering. The right one was deep etched on the front for an engraved look. Both were subsequently filled with silver paint.

Using the information gained from the experiment I etched this table top.

I've been doing a fair bit of custom etching  for gifts lately.

Architectural Etching

Welcome to today's Architectrual etching blog

Etching can be used to enhance a building's beauty , safety and privacy , it can also help commercial occupants be noticed. Etching is a far more versatile process than engraving and is more pleasing aesthetically than conventional signmaking methods.

Windows can be etched with beautiful images and glass doors can have small etchings to prevent people from walking into them. Windows can also carry a commercial occupant's logo. Glass , metal, stone, wood and some plastics can be etched to make signage throughout a building to help people find their way around.

You can etch shower screens and glass or metal splashbacks or have a motif ecthed in feature tiles. Buildings with stone tiles can have designs etched in them for beauty and for antislip in external doorways. Superior etchworx can do this in your premises without making a dusty mess thanks to our vacuum recovery sandblaster.

Please browse the photos.
Thanks for looking at my blog.

Custom etching

Welcome to another blog, it has been a busy few weeks and I've Been doing some interesting work .

Brett has built himself an outdoor entertainment area with a club lounge feel to it and had this glassware and door plaque made to make that picture complete.

The men and women of the survival equipment training section at HMAS Cerberus made this award for a commanding officer that was leaving and had me make this brass plate for it. It was done by electrolytic etching then paint filled and polished.

Tony and his mates had these stubby coolers etched for a racing trip to NZ.

Bobs mate Tom had this plaque made to celebrate Bob's 90th birthday with a bit of humour. Congratulations to Bob for continuing to breathe for that length of time.

Meniere's Australia were looking for something special for this award and commissioned this handmade etched glass plate with a handmade aluminium stand.

Thanks for viewing todays blog and merry christmas to all of you

Gifts and Personalisation

This year when you are thinking about gifts for those that you love, think outside the box. One of the best ways to let your friends and family know that you are truly thinking about them , not crossing names off gift lists, is to get them a personalised gift. These can be mundane items that have had a relavent picture or saying etched or engraved on it , such as a wine glass that says Mother's Little Helper, or something of great value that they desire , embellished in a personal way.

A few gift ideas
