An experiment with etching painted glass.
On the left the back was painted then deep etched to give a 3d effect to the lettering. The right one was deep etched on the front for an engraved look. Both were subsequently filled with silver paint.

Using the information gained from the experiment I etched this table top.

I've been doing a fair bit of custom etching  for gifts lately.
